Your home is your canvas

Your home is your canvas. It is your space where you can express yourself and choose colours that suit the lifestyle of you and your family.

Black & White is the contemporary look of today, creating a canvas where any other colour can be added giving you the freedom to choose dramatic Reds or subtle heavy rusts.

Crisp white is the overall statement, contrasted by blacks and charcoals in rugs and soft furnishings, the home has been furnished in rich dark chocolate furniture pieces and the white kitchen with chocolate timber laminates complements the overall scheme. The cool white opens space whilst the warm browns draw you in. This makes any house feel like a home.

Contemporary wallpapers throughout the home capture the eye. The entry wall is bold and draws you in to read what it says, a feature wall is the perfect way to balance a room or hallway that would otherwise be dull. In another bedroom, the walls are covered in street maps in a light shade of brown, a funky design for both young and old.

Furniture pieces do not have to entirely match from one family or design. Rich dark timbers combined with chrome, black glass and white leathers can be used as your base. Accent cushions on sofas can add a pop of colour to any room and varied textures can add a degree of comfort to a stark space. Think outside the box with occasional furniture, allowing yourself to be daring. Step out of your comfort zone and seek out furniture pieces that don’t necessarily match.

The bathroom continues the theme and upholds this fresh crisp look that is consistent throughout the whole design of the house. With a splash of heavy colour across a white shower curtain, they should never be dismissed when designing your bathroom. A canvas in its own right, the shower curtain can be the perfect feature when creating a bathroom with elegance and character.

Any colour of the colour wheel can be used to add contrast and personality to this home. Keep the colour values contained to a minimum throughout the home. Remember Black & White is the statement here, not the contrasting hue.
