Timber floors are an excellent way to infuse warmth and colour throughout the home, creating a smart, traditional look or a more minimalist, contemporary feel. This is why Metricon has chosen to feature Boral Timber’s engineered hardwood flooring in many of their display homes, giving you the chance to experience the beauty of timber within the environment of your new home.
But don’t just take our word for it – checkout the studio m image galleries or visit your nearest Metricon display centre to see Boral Silkwood engineered hardwood flooring in-situ and find out more about the range.
Boral Silkwood is available in a wide range of Australian species and as a pre-finished product does not need to be sanded or finished on site, allowing it to be walked on within hours of installation.
In many of Metricon’s display centres you can view Boral Silkwood 175mm wide boards which are ideal for open plan living and available in three species - Blackbutt, Sydney Blue Gum and Brushbox. Boral Silkwood is also available in a 133mm width, which offers a variety of Australian hardwood timbers – from popular Blackbutt, Spotted Gum and Stringybark through to rich Sydney Blue Gum, Red Mahogany and Jarrah.
Another reason that Metricon has chosen to useBoral Silkwood products is thanks to a 25 year residential structural and surface warranty. What’s more, Boral Timber has achieved Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) Chain of Custody certification for its timber products, sourcing them from sustainably managed and legal sources. AFS is the only forest certification that meets Australian Standard AS 4708-2007 and is the largest forest management certifier in Australia. AFS is also linked to the world’s largest forest management certifier – PEFC.
