Boral has expanded its award-winning Masonry One solution with the launch of the Masonry One Brick System.
Masonry One picked up the Product Innovation award at the BPN Sustainability Awards in November, 2008 – demonstrating Boral’s commitment to bring innovative, sustainable products to the market that deliver long-term product performance.
A home-grown innovation, Masonry One Brick ticks all the right boxes as an environmentally friendly solution. The brick is made out of concrete produced from 57 per cent waste material (ash) from power stations – preserving other natural resources like sand and aggregate. The water used in the bricks is also fully recycled from a dam on the manufacturing site.
Ideal for a range of industrial projects including three-storey walk-ups and domestic houses, Masonry One Brick is a low cost alternative to clay building products. It is quick to install, easy to render and cuts easily with minimal wastage. Concrete bricks also ensure conformity of size.
Designed to stand the test of time, the product is exposure grade – making it durable for structures close to the sea and water. Masonry One brick also has a fire rating of 90 minutes and is load bearing.
According to Boral Masonry’s National Marketing Manager Mark Denton, Boral launched Masonry One Brick to leverage the successful
Masonry One Block mix design.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response to Masonry One Block from the industry, so we really wanted to expand the range and make it a more universal solution,” said Denton.
“Lightweight, high-performance, sustainable solutions are the way forward in the building industry – Boral’s new Masonry One Brick System meets this demand and enables Masonry One to be used across more applications.”
